What is Basti Therapy?

Basti is one of the most important Panchakarma detoxification therapies in Ayurveda, in which medicated oils and herbal decoctions are administered through the rectal route to eliminate aggravated Vata Dosha and associated toxins from the body.

Basti is considered the best treatment for Vata disorders and is called “Ardha Chikitsa” (half of total Ayurveda treatment) due to its wide therapeutic applications.

This therapy helps nourish tissues, detoxify the colon, strengthen nerves, improve digestion, relieve pain, and restore dosha balance.
